Natural Leaf Print Cotton & Linen

FABRIC

Tightly woven French "toile" in cotton and linen, half lined with vintage Chinese silk. This fabric is woven for the brand in France, using late 19th century industrial looms, reproducing the historic feel and durability known to be characteristic of French vintage workwear garments.

FIT AND CONSTRUCTION

Victorian riding jacket pattern based of a 1895 tailoring manual, featuring a fitted body with a signature anatomic 3 piece sleeve design, hand pad stitched notch lapel and collar using wool / goat hair / viscose canvassing. Practical design with its 2 inseam side pockets and featuring the signature sharp diagonal welts. The jacket is cut with a center back pleat, working button cuffs sleeves and one button front closure. Cotton inside tape is used for finishing to allow tailors to alter the jacket’s size and fit.

TREATMENT

Natural leaf print using natural Oak tree, Hornbeam and Bramble leaves, made by oxidizing the tanins from the fresh leaves onto the fabric, creating a one-of-a-kind monochromatic design.

FINISHING

Handsewn keyhole silk buttonholes with 3 natural horn buttons.
